Forza Horizon 6 Releases May 19 on Xbox Series X|S & PC With Massive Japan Map, 550+ Cars, and Multiplayer Modes

At today’s Developer Direct, we got an extended look at Forza Horizon 6, brought to life in the stunning landscapes of Japan. You start the game as a tourist in the country, and players join the Horizon Festival and earn rewards as they complete challenges to progress. As you climb the ranks, you eventually unlock access to the legendary Legend Island.

The game’s map is the largest yet in the series, featuring verticality, diverse biomes, and the biggest urban environment ever—five times larger than anything previous Forza developers have made. Season changes are fully integrated, bringing a dynamic, living world to life. An adventure journal helps track your progress across all activities.

Forza Horizon 6 launches with over 550 cars, more than ever before at the start of the game. Players can also customize garages in their estates, decorating interiors and showing them off to friends. Estates start empty and grow as you progress, with all customization permanent and visible to other players.

Accessibility and convenience features have been added, including a proximity radar, an auto-drive mode for those who want to enjoy the environment without stress, and high-contrast options for easier navigation.

Multiplayer is fully integrated across the map. You can build with friends, take part in car meets, and compete in open-world time attack circuits. Builders can collaborate to create unique tracks or challenges, making the Horizon Festival feel even more interactive and social.

Players will also enjoy new ways to experience the world, from casual cruising to serious racing, all within a living, breathing Japan. The combination of vast exploration, car customization, and multiplayer fun promises a Horizon experience unlike anything before.

Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PlayStation version is expected to arrive later in the year.

This edition of Forza Horizon sets a high bar with its massive map, deep customization, and social gameplay. Fans of the series now have even more reason to explore Japan, build their dream estates, and take their car collections to new heights.
