Framework Opens Pre-Orders This Week for Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 Desktop With 192 GB

Framework’s new Desktop with AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 and 192 GB of unified memory will open for pre-orders this Wednesday, targeting users who want to run large AI models locally.

The system pairs AMD’s Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 with 192 GB of LPDDR5X unified memory running at 8533 MT/s. Framework says the memory subsystem offers 273 GB/s of bandwidth, giving the machine enough capacity for demanding local AI workloads and large language models.

Framework has already demonstrated DeepSeek V4-Flash running at Q8 on a single system.

The Ryzen AI MAX+ 495 features 16 Zen 5 CPU cores clocked at up to 5.2 GHz alongside Radeon 8065S integrated graphics. The GPU includes 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units running at up to 3.0 GHz.

Framework increases unified memory to 192 GB

The biggest upgrade comes from the memory capacity. The new 192 GB configuration increases the maximum available memory by 50% compared with Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 systems, which topped out at 128 GB.

Framework has also changed the PCIe x4 slot to an open-ended design. This allows users to install physically larger PCIe cards even when they use more lanes than the slot provides electrically.

The additional memory could prove especially useful for AI workloads that need to keep large models entirely in memory instead of relying on slower storage.

Two systems can pool 384 GB for AI workloads

Framework has also demonstrated two of the desktops working together through 50 GbE network adapters with RoCE support.

Using tensor parallelism, the setup can distribute AI workloads across both machines while effectively giving applications access to 384 GB of combined memory.

The high-speed network connection reduces communication latency between the two systems, making the configuration more practical for models that exceed the memory capacity of a single machine.

The 192 GB model could cost more than $6,000

Framework will offer a pre-built version of the Desktop with Linux already installed.

The company has warned that rising LPDDR5X prices will make the 192 GB configuration significantly more expensive than the existing 128 GB model. Some estimates suggest the new configuration could cost more than $6,000, although Framework has not announced the final price.

Pre-orders are scheduled to open this Wednesday.
