Google Chrome Can Now Pull Details From Gmail to Fill Out Forms With Gemini
Google Chrome is getting a handy upgrade that could save you from digging through your inbox every time you fill out a form. The browser can now use Gemini to find details in Gmail and suggest them automatically. However, the feature comes with specific eligibility requirements.
Chrome’s enhanced autofill can find flight bookings and order numbers
The feature uses Gemini with Personal Intelligence to find relevant information directly in Gmail. Chrome can now suggest flight booking details, package tracking numbers, and recent purchase order numbers. This means users no longer need to switch tabs and search through confirmation emails manually.
For example, Chrome could find a flight booking number while you complete an online check-in form. It can also surface tracking details when you want to follow a delivery. These suggestions appear inside Chrome’s autofill interface when relevant information is available.
The upgrade builds on Chrome’s existing autofill capabilities, which already handle names, addresses, and payment information. Google also plans to extend enhanced autofill to images stored in Google Photos. However, that expansion has not arrived yet.
Gemini autofill has privacy controls, but eligibility is limited
Google says sensitive information remains encrypted and users stay in control. You can manage enhanced autofill through Chrome’s settings or disable it entirely. To manage the feature, open Chrome Settings and navigate to Autofill and passwords. Select Enhanced autofill, then turn off Find and fill with Gemini if you no longer want these suggestions.
Google is initially rolling out the feature in the United States. It works on desktop, Android, and iOS for eligible Gemini in Chrome users. All that said, it should be noted that you must also have Personal Intelligence enabled to access the new feature.
