Intel appears ready to enter the handheld gaming market, with new leaks pointing to a reveal of its Arc G3 chip lineup at Computex 2026, which matches with previous Q2 release rumors. The move signals a stronger push into portable gaming hardware.

Arc G3 chips aim to power next-gen handhelds

According to a report from VideoCardz, Intel plans to introduce two variants: Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme. The company is also shifting away from its previous Core G3 branding, aligning the chips with its Arc graphics identity.

The new lineup is expected to remain relevant from Q2 2026 through Q2 2027, giving partners a full product cycle to build and ship devices.

Performance targets and power range revealed

The Arc G3 chips are designed with flexibility in mind. They feature a configurable base TDP of 25W, while turbo power could scale between 65W and 80W depending on the device.

While earlier rumors suggested support for LPDDR5X-8533 memory, this detail remains unconfirmed for now.

Updated Arc branding and naming strategy

Intel is also refining its GPU naming. Earlier references to Arc B380 and B360 have reportedly shifted to B390 and B370. This change aligns with a broader Series 3 branding strategy across Intel’s graphics lineup.

OEM partners already preparing devices

Several major manufacturers are expected to adopt the new chips early. MSI and OneXPlayer are among the first names mentioned, alongside GPD, Acer, and even Microsoft, based on earlier showcases.

However, companies like ASUS and Lenovo have not yet been confirmed as partners.

Launch timeline and availability

Intel could unveil the Arc G3 chips at Computex 2026, with retail devices expected to follow weeks or months later. Reports suggest that silicon is already finalized and has passed internal testing.

If accurate, Intel’s entry could shake up a market currently dominated by AMD-powered handhelds, bringing more competition and potentially better performance options for gamers on the go.
