Intel Unveils Core Ultra 200HX Plus Mobile SoCs for Avid Gamers and Professionals

Intel has officially launched its new Core Ultra 200HX Plus series, bringing fresh options for gamers, creators, and professionals seeking high-performance mobile processors. The new lineup introduces two chips: the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and the Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus, both designed to push mobile computing further with smarter performance improvements.

Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series boosts mobile performance for gaming and content creation

Intel highlights the new Binary Optimization Tool, a first-of-its-kind feature, which improves native performance in select games and workloads. Combined with higher die-to-die frequencies, the 290HX Plus promises up to 8% faster gaming performance and 7% better single-threaded performance compared to the previous Ultra 9 285HX.

Users upgrading from older devices can see up to 62% faster gaming and 30% faster single-threaded performance compared with Intel Core i9-12900HX. Connectivity and workflow improvements also get a notable upgrade. The processors support Intel Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Thunderbolt 5, which allows up to 80 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth. This makes streaming, file transfers, charging, and daisy-chaining multiple peripherals faster and smoother than before.

Intel confirms that several partner OEMs are already rolling out systems powered by the Core Ultra 200HX Plus series. This includes Acer’s Predator Helios Neo lineup, ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18, Dell Alienware 16 and 18 series, Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, Razer Blade 18, and many others. Availability starts today, March 17, 2026, with more models set to launch throughout the year. Here’s a complete list shared by Intel, in case you want to check:
