[UPDATE] Is Xbox Live Down in Latest Outage? Players Hit With Sign-in Error 0x80004005, Profile Creation, Game Launch, and Server Issues

If you have been trying to log into Xbox today, you may be running into a frustrating wall. At the time of writing this, user reports are surging for Xbox Network, with players reporting login failures, game launch problems and server connection issues.

Xbox players are reporting problems

Downdetector shows a sharp spike in user reports, reaching nearly 600 at around 6:25 PM IST today against the normal baseline shown is only three reports. That spike does not automatically confirm a full Xbox Network outage. However, it strongly suggests that some players are experiencing sign-in, game launch, and other issues.

Game launches and server connections may be affected

The bigger concern is what happens after login problems appear. Xbox authentication is linked to online services, so issues with the service can potentially affect game launches and connections. That can leave players stuck at sign-in screens, unable to reach multiplayer servers or unable to validate their access to games.

For Windows players, Microsoft recommends checking Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Networking Service and Gaming Services. Repairing the Xbox app or resetting Microsoft Store components may also help to fix the problem.
