[UPDATE | 04:23 AM IST, January 27, 2026] In a response to a post on X, which reports similar error we talked below, YouTube has officially responded, “Hi there! Have you tried clearing your cache & cookies? Also, logging out & signing back in might fix the issue. Let us know how it goes.” If you are also getting similar error, make sure to try the aforementioned, and let us know in the comments below.

[ORIGINAL STORY] If you are trying to watch videos on YouTube, but consistently getting “this content isn’t available, try again” error, you’re not alone. Folks over at Neowin first reported this issue, however, when digging up r/YouTube subreddit, Windows Report found out that the issue could be linked to ad blockers.

Some users confirmed that disabling ad blockers fixed the “this content isn’t available, try again” error

In a Reddit post, a user claims that YouTube refuses to open any videos. Apparently, the issue plagued the YouTube’s mobile website for the user. However, a quick look at the comments under the post confirms that users on PC are also affected by this issue.

Although Google hasn’t confirmed or denied the issue, the real reason behind the “this content isn’t available, try again later” error could be ad blockers. Some users have confirmed that after deactivating ad blockers, YouTube videos streamed normally.

Those not using ad blockers or VPNs are also facing similar issue

That said, some YouTube users, including “Premium” subscribers, claim that they are facing similar issue even though they don’t have any ad blockers or VPNs enabled. For example, one Reddit user (u/GodlyCree) claims that videos fail to load upon the initial click. However, when the page is refreshed or navigated back and then forwarded again, the video reportedly opens normally. It’s unclear why it is happening. However, the claims I talked about earlier in this article gives a hint that this could be related to ad blockers.

YouTube has long been cracking down on ad blockers, so it could be one of those tactics from the company. But, the question here is: why is it happening for YouTube Premium users?

This is a developing story, we’ll update it as soon as we hear anything from the company.
