Larian Studios Announces Divinity at The Game Awards 2026, Its Biggest RPG Yet

A mysterious statue teased before The Game Awards 2025 sparked speculation about a new Divinity project, and those rumors proved accurate. Larian Studios officially unveiled its next RPG during the show, and it carries a simple but powerful title: Divinity.

Larian, the team behind the massively successful Baldur’s Gate 3, described this as its largest RPG to date. The studio didn’t reveal a subtitle, suggesting the project stands as a fresh, standalone entry set within a darker and gloomier world. Early commentary hints at a more atmospheric tone than previous Divinity titles.

While this isn’t Divinity Original Sin 3 or the continuation of the story from previous games, the developer says this new entry could surpass the scale and ambition of Baldur’s Gate 3, which sets expectations incredibly high among fans of narrative-driven RPGs.

While the reveal generated plenty of excitement, Larian didn’t share a release date, leaving players waiting for more details in future updates.
