Microsoft Adds Handheld Support to 41 More XBOX Games

Microsoft has added 41 more Xbox games to its handheld compatibility program, expanding the number of titles designed to run smoothly on portable Windows gaming devices such as the Xbox Ally.
The update includes 29 handheld-optimized games and 12 handheld-compatible games, according to TrueAchievements.
The handheld update comes as Microsoft prepares another busy week for Xbox. More than 30 games are coming to XBOX between August 17 and August 21, while four titles have already been confirmed for the XBOX Game Pass September 2026 lineup.
29 more games are now handheld-optimized
Microsoft separates supported PC games into handheld-optimized and handheld-compatible categories.
Handheld-optimized games should work well on supported handheld devices without requiring players to change graphics, display, or control settings manually.
The latest 29 handheld-optimized games are:

One of the more notable additions is Minecraft Dungeons II, which Microsoft now classifies as handheld-optimized ahead of its release.
12 games gain handheld-compatible status
Handheld-compatible games can also run on supported portable devices, although players may need to adjust some in-game settings to get the best experience.
The 12 new handheld-compatible games are:
- Beast of Reincarnation
- Duskfade
- Fading Clouds (Windows)
- Five Hearts Under One Roof
- Limbot
- Mate’Morphosis
- Neon Vault Rush
- Ninja Nightfall
- No More Room in Hell 2
- Panzer Knights: Commander’s Edition
- Tailbreak
- Wild Blue Skies
Beast of Reincarnation is among the biggest additions. Game Freak’s recently released action RPG, which is also available through Xbox Game Pass, now carries Microsoft’s handheld-compatible classification.
Co-op zombie shooter No More Room in Hell 2 has also joined the compatible category.
With another 41 titles receiving classifications, Xbox handheld owners now have a larger selection of games with clear guidance on how well they should work on portable gaming hardware.
