Microsoft Copilot SWOT

Microsoft has updated Copilot to be able of many useful capabilities: it can scour the Internet to answer your questions, it can compose texts and edit them, it can summarize data, and it can create images with Microsoft Designer.

But Microsoft users, especially entrepreneurs will be pleased to find out Copilot will be able to act as a business consultant. How? Well, according to the latest entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will update the Microsoft Copilot to be able to generate a SWOT analysis.

SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats, and it’s a usual method for asserting the viability of a business by approaching all the general key points. As you can tell, such analysis takes into consideration all the existing data of a company, to which Copilot already has access.

The entry says the SWOT analysis generated by Microsoft Copilot will also come with a pro/con list of actions business owners need to do to make sure their businesses stay afloat and thrive in the long run.

Users can ask for a SWOT analysis or pro/con list of a document or topic that will analyze their document and bring in relevant enterprise and web context to inform the derived analysis.

It’s worth mentioning that, for now, this feature is only mentioned to be available on Microsoft 365, starting next month, in May 2024.

The SWOT analysis can be especially useful to SMBs as these businesses often do not have the necessary budget to hire a business consultant to devise plans of action for them. By purchasing a Microsoft 365 subscription, however, they can get Copilot to devise such plans.

It might not be perfect, of course, but the AI model will take into consideration all existing data and will come up with achievable plans that can be further discussed and improved if needed.
