Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 26H2 is now broadly available for eligible PCs running Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, completing the gradual rollout that began in September 2026.

The update initially reached devices in stages to minimize compatibility and stability issues, but Microsoft has now expanded its availability to all eligible systems.

Windows 11 26H2 Reaches Full Availability

Windows 11 26H2 has reached full availability, allowing users on versions 24H2 and 25H2 to upgrade directly through Windows Update.

To check for the update, open Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

However, availability still depends on device eligibility and any applicable compatibility restrictions. PCs affected by safeguard holds may not receive the update immediately.

Other Ways to Install Windows 11 26H2

Microsoft also provides several alternative installation methods for users who prefer to upgrade manually.

The KB5121794 enablement package allows users to upgrade from Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2 without performing a full operating system installation.

The package activates features already present in the existing Windows installation, making the upgrade process faster and simpler.

Microsoft also offers a dedicated Windows 11 26H2 Installation Assistant for users who want another way to upgrade their PCs.

Alternatively, users can download official Windows 11 26H2 ISO images for AMD64 and ARM64 devices.

The latest ISO images include KB5127648 and are available through Microsoft’s updated Media Creation Tool.

These installation images also allow users to perform a clean installation rather than upgrading an existing Windows installation.
