Word line numbering

Word for the Web has recently been updated with new and improved line numbering features.

Milena OkoÅ¡anović, a Technical Program Manager on the Word team, explains that line numbering “is a useful feature in a variety of contexts, especially in documents that require greater organization and precise referencing, such as legal documents, academic papers, technical manuals, scripts and screenplays, and collaboratively edited documents.”

The new features include:

  • Customization: Users can now choose what page to start numbering, the space between the numbers and the text, the increment number, and whether to restart after each page, each section, or continuously number the whole text.

The updated features are available to all Word for Web users.

In other news, Microsoft recently updated Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the Web with new file menus and a new design.
