Microsoft Flight Simulator Update Adds Netherlands, Belgium Cities
Microsoft has just released City Update 14 for Flight Simulator, and this time the focus is entirely on the Netherlands and Belgium. The development team upgraded the visual quality of ten specific locations across both countries. Players can now download this free content and fly over highly detailed, realistic versions of several major European cities. This scheduled release drops right alongside a major weekend flight simulation conference.
Exploring the upgraded locations in the Netherlands
The Netherlands receives the biggest share of the visual upgrades in this latest patch. Eight specific areas got a massive visual boost using fresh surface texturing data. You can explore three updated sections in Amsterdam alone. The developers also included Breukelen, Brielle, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, and Utrecht in the package. Each city features accurate buildings, famous monuments, and properly mapped street layouts.
Fans of the game will notice a huge difference when flying low over the famous canals, busy shipping ports, or taking off from local airports. The terrain textures look much sharper than before, giving virtual pilots a great reason to revisit the region.
Checking out the detailed changes across Belgium
Belgium gets its own share of improvements with two fully updated locations added to the map. Players can now cruise over Antwerp and Bruges to see the new details from above. Both cities feature incredible historic architecture that looks much closer to reality. Antwerp shows off its massive, busy port, while Bruges highlights its classic medieval streets and waterways.
This update is completely free for everyone who owns the base game or plays through a subscription. You simply need to open the in-game marketplace, find the new city update, and hit download.
It works well on both the older version and the newer release across all compatible computers and gaming consoles.
