Microsoft blocked Windows 11 24H2 if you installed Ubisoft games

Even though Microsoft issued a patch that fixes many Windows 11 24H2 bugs, the company still acknowledging new ones almost every day. The latest known issue is that after updating to 24H2 you might experience crashes, freezes and black screens on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

According to Microsoft’s announcement, Ubisoft released a patch for Star Wars Outlaws that fixes the problem for that game. However, if you installed any of the other games in the list, you won’t be able to install Windows 11 24H2 just yet.

The Redmond giant also mentioned a workaround if you have problems with any of the other games, but it’s hardly a fix. They simply explain how to close the program from Task Manager by ending the game from the Processes tab.

So, if you didn’t install Windows 24H2 yet, you have a lot of reasons not to. If you did, you’re just stuck with killing the process and restarting the game until Microsoft and Ubisoft will issue patches to mitigate the problem.

We might see some new issues with other games as well in the following days. Actually, if you’re facing such issues after installing Windows 11 24H2, let us know in the comments below and let Microsoft know about it as well.
