Microsoft Makes Windows 11 26H2 Available to All Eligible PCs, Including Windows 10
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 26H2 is now available to all eligible PCs, including supported Windows 10 devices. Users can upgrade directly to the latest version through Windows Update.
According to Microsoft’s October 28 announcement, the update has reached full availability after a gradual rollout that began in late September. Neowin reports that compatible Windows 10 PCs can now upgrade directly to 26H2 without installing an earlier Windows 11 version first.
Windows 11 26H2 is now available for all eligible devices
Microsoft initially rolled out Windows 11 26H2 in stages to identify potential compatibility and stability issues before expanding availability.
The company previously expanded Windows 11 26H2 to eligible devices running versions 24H2 and 25H2. The latest announcement extends availability to supported Windows 10 PCs.
Microsoft says Windows 11 26H2 includes the features introduced in versions 24H2 and 25H2. On supported Windows 11 devices, the update also uses servicing technology to reduce installation time.
There may also be performance improvements. Windows 11 26H2 reportedly reduces RAM usage by up to 2GB, although the results vary depending on the device and installed memory.
How to upgrade to Windows 11 26H2
Users with compatible PCs can check for the update by opening Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates.
Windows 10 users must meet Microsoft’s Windows 11 hardware requirements before upgrading.
For users who prefer an offline installation, the Windows 11 26H2 KB5121794 Enablement Package provides another upgrade option for supported Windows 11 installations.
Full availability means Microsoft has expanded the rollout to all eligible devices, although compatibility safeguards may still prevent some PCs from receiving the update immediately.
In other news, Microsoft has updated Windows Defender security definitions for Windows 11 26H2 installation images, improving protection during fresh installations.
