Microsoft and Samsung have been close partners for a long time. Their collab has mainly focused on bridging mobile and desktop experiences, especially through productivity tools. One of the most useful outcomes of that partnership has been the seamless syncing between Samsung Notes and Microsoft OneNote. Well, that integration is reportedly coming to an end, according to SamMobile.

Samsung Notes and Microsoft OneNote Sync ending starting this August

The news outlet spotted a post on X by user @kro_roe, who noted that syncing between Samsung Notes and Microsoft OneNote will stop in July 2026. When folks at SamMobile checked on a Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Samsung Notes app itself confirmed the change, displaying a message that syncing support will end “after July.” Take a look at the shared screenshot below:

At a time when cross-device productivity has become more important than ever, the end of this integration could cause disruption for users who rely on both platforms. As of now, notes created in Samsung Notes can appear directly in OneNote and vice versa, helping users move between mobile and PC workflows smoothly. Once the feature ends, that continuity will break completely.

In other words, users will need to manually manage their notes or switch to alternative solutions if they want cross-platform access.

For many, this change could feel like a step backward in a space where ecosystem integration is becoming a key selling point. Samsung and Microsoft have not yet provided a detailed reason for ending the feature, which leaves room for speculation about backend changes or shifting strategic priorities.
