Microsoft Releases New Windows Terminal Builds With Stability Improvements
Microsoft has been actively improving its command-line tools, recently releasing WinApp CLI for developers. Alongside that update, the company has also pushed a quieter update for Windows Terminal, delivering new Preview and Stable builds focused on fixes and stability rather than major new features.
Two Windows Terminal versions released
As reported by Neowin, Microsoft has released updated versions of Windows Terminal for both the Preview and Stable channels. The changes are described as modest, with the upcoming Windows Terminal 1.25 update expected to continue refining performance, reliability, and overall polish.

- Fixed a threading error dialog when loading settings
- Resolved hangs when pasting large amounts of text with paste warnings enabled

- Fixed an issue where acrylic effects overrode the tab row background color
Windows Terminal Stable version 1.23.20211.0 updates
The new Stable release focuses on targeted fixes and standards support:
- Added support for DECSET 2026 Synchronized Output
- Fixed a crash caused by a stray Microsoft.UI.Xaml.dll appearing in the system PATH
- Improved localization for Cut, Copy, and Paste menu options in the settings UI
Windows Terminal Preview and Stable builds are available through GitHub and the Microsoft Store.
This Windows Terminal update arrives as Microsoft continues addressing broader Windows issues. The company recently released a second emergency update to fix Outlook problems, while reports persist of the KB5074109 update causing boot failures on some Windows systems.
