microsoft store individual download

Microsoft just released the latest build to the Canary channel for Windows 11 Insiders. Alongside the anticipated MIDI 2.0 technology, the company is also introducing a new to download games in the Microsoft Store: downloading and installing individual components.

Now, you might be thinking: what is this? How can someone download individual parts of a video game and still run that game properly? As Microsoft explains in the release notes, these particular parts of the game are stand-alone options that can be installed for a greater gaming experience.

The Redmond-based tech giant says games like Call of Duty and Halo will allow users to download high-resolution textures or even parts of their campaigns. Thanks to the new option, these downloads become just like that: options. They’re optional, and you can still play the game without installing high-resolution textures, for example.

The new settings for Microsoft Store will also allow the platform to let users manage the components of the video game with the help of a new button.

In other news, the latest build for the Canary channel also introduced the ability to seamlessly resume OneDrive files in 1-click from your phone to PC.
