Microsoft announced in a blog post that the Xbox Ambassadors program, one of the most important Xbox platforms, will be discontinued on October 15. The program, known for its big rewards to the community, is being phased out as players find more value in engaging with the company in other ways, such as the Xbox Insider Program.
Even though the platform will be shut down on October 15, program members will have until then to claim any of their remaining codes or rewards. The company is also closing the Ambassador Quests, and the Xbox Ambassadors badge will get a new and final legacy design.
Any Xbox Ambassadors active with the program in the current season will get a special “thank you” in the rewards section. Before the shutdown date, the program will hold special weekly sweepstakes.
The Redmond-based tech giant will also change the Xbox Ambassador Champions program into Xbox Community Champions. While this program is going away, Microsoft plans to expand its Rewards with Xbox and Xbox Research program, with more details to be revealed later.
Over the last 13 years, Xbox Ambassadors have played a key role in fostering connections and positivity among Xbox players. Whether hosting a gaming session for players to connect or providing feedback on our games and hardware—you have helped shape Xbox in so many ways. While we have learned so much from this passionate group, today we are announcing the final season of the Xbox Ambassadors program as we continue to integrate its values across our platform and focus on creating more ways for you to directly influence and impact Xbox for all.
If you’re an Xbox Ambassador, you can join the Xbox Insider Program to get an early look at new Xbox console and PC app features and test upcoming games.
