Microsoft will make a massive change to OneDrive’s share folder experience, allowing users to access all shared content in one place without looking for it on other platforms.

Announced in a recent entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this new “People View” is designed to make finding and accessing shared files and folders easier. It organizes shared content by the people who share it with you.

When you click a link to a shared folder from various sources like Teams chat, channels, email, or other places, you’ll be taken to a People view within your OneDrive instead of just opening the folder.

In this People view, you’ll see all the files and folders shared by different people. It gathers all shared content in one place, so you don’t have to search through different locations or remember who shared what.

Here’s what the entry says:

With this feature update, when a user clicks a link to a shared folder from Teams chat, channels, email, or other places, they will navigate to the shared folder within the People view of their own OneDrive. This new view, organized by people, will show and allow access to all the files and folders that have been shared with the user.

The new People View will be added to OneDrive in March and will be generally available to all users.

In other news, the latest insider build to the Canary channel enhanced OneDrive, allowing users to resume working on OneDrive files from the phone on their PC.
