MSI and Colorful RTX 50 GPU Prices Rise by Up to 20% in China

GeForce RTX 50 series prices are increasing in China, with new MSI and Colorful distributor lists showing higher costs across most models. According to VideoCardz, some RTX 5080 cards now cost 20% more than before.

The changes affect products ranging from the entry-level RTX 5050 to the China-specific RTX 5090 D V2. However, the documents only confirm distributor pricing in China, with no equivalent increases confirmed for the United States or Europe.

MSI RTX 5080 prices increase by up to 20%

MSI has applied some of the largest increases to its RTX 5080 lineup. The RTX 5080 Shadow 3X OC and Ventus models have moved from 9,999 yuan to 11,999 yuan.

That represents a 2,000 yuan increase, or 20%.

The MSI RTX 5080 Gaming Trio OC has also risen from 10,999 yuan to 12,999 yuan. This adjustment equals an 18.2% increase.

These changes place several MSI RTX 5080 models well above their previous distributor prices, although final retail pricing may vary between stores.

RTX 5070 Ti models also receive major increases

MSI’s RTX 5070 Ti cards have received increases close to those affecting the RTX 5080 series.

The RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC has risen from 8,199 yuan to 9,699 yuan. This represents an increase of 1,500 yuan, or approximately 18.3%.

The RTX 5070 Ti Shadow 3X OC has moved from 7,699 yuan to 9,199 yuan. Its price has increased by roughly 19.5%.

Standard RTX 5070 cards have received smaller adjustments. Most models have increased by around 8% to 10%, depending on the cooler and factory overclock.

MSI raises mainstream RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 prices

MSI has also adjusted prices across its more affordable Blackwell graphics cards.

Most RTX 5060 Ti models have increased by between 300 and 400 yuan. Standard RTX 5060 cards generally cost around 400 yuan more under the updated pricing.

The RTX 5060 Shadow 2X OC has moved from 2,599 yuan to 2,999 yuan. This represents a 400 yuan increase of approximately 15.4%.

MSI has applied the same adjustment to the RTX 5050 Gaming OC, which has also risen from 2,599 yuan to 2,999 yuan.

Colorful lists updated RTX 50 series prices

Colorful’s distributor sheet shows current pricing for several RTX 50 series models, although it does not include previous prices.

Because the document does not show Colorful’s previous distributor prices, the exact percentage increases cannot be calculated directly. The sheet reflects distributor pricing in China as of July 24.

Higher graphics memory costs may explain the changes

The distributor adjustments reportedly stem from increasing GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory costs.

Notices shared with distributors suggest that memory-related increases could add around 600 yuan to 8GB graphics cards. The expected increase reaches approximately 900 yuan for 12GB models and 1,200 yuan for cards with 16GB of memory.

These figures could explain why higher-end RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 cards have received some of the largest adjustments.

The documents do not confirm that NVIDIA has changed its official suggested retail prices. They instead show pricing changes introduced through Chinese distribution channels.

China may be responding earlier to rising graphics memory costs than other regions. Similar adjustments have not yet been confirmed for retailers or distributors in the United States and Europe.

In other NVIDIA news, the NVIDIA Vera CPU is already helping the company develop its next chips. NVIDIA and SK Group have also announced plans for an AI infrastructure and memory partnership valued at more than $500 billion.
