MSI Announces Three New X870 and X870E AM5 Motherboards
As Guru 3D reports, MSI Computer Japan has announced three new AM5 motherboards for the domestic market, based on AMD’s X870E and X870 chipsets. The new boards launch on February 13, 2026, and target flagship, compact, and mainstream desktop builds.
All three models share several platform-level features designed for next-generation Ryzen systems.

MEG X870E ACE MAX targets flagship AM5 builds

The MEG X870E ACE MAX sits at the top of MSI’s new lineup and focuses on extreme power delivery, storage expansion, and connectivity.

- VRM: 18+2+1 phases with 110A SPS, wave-fin heatsinks, and direct-touch cross heatpipe
- Memory: Up to DDR5-9000, four DIMMs, up to 256 GB
Storage support includes two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots, three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, and four SATA ports. Expansion options feature two PCIe 5.0 x16 mechanical slots and one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot.
Networking is equally high-end with dual 10GbE and 5GbE LAN, plus Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Audio uses Realtek ALC4082 paired with an ESS 9219Q DAC. MSI lists the board at $820.
MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO WIFI brings X870 to Mini-ITX

For small form factor systems, MSI introduced the MPG X870I EDGE TI EVO WIFI, built around the X870 chipset in a Mini-ITX layout.

- Memory: Up to DDR5-10000, two DIMMs, up to 128 GB
The board offers one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot, two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, and two SATA ports. GPU support comes from a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot.
Connectivity includes 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4, while audio relies on the Realtek ALC4080 codec. The listed price is $369.
PRO X870E-S EVO WIFI aims for mainstream AM5 users

The PRO X870E-S EVO WIFI targets more affordable builds while retaining PCIe 5.0 and modern connectivity.

- VRM: 12+2+1 phases with 60A SPS
- Memory: Up to DDR5-8200, four DIMMs, up to 256 GB
Storage includes one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot, two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots, and four SATA ports. Expansion covers one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot alongside additional PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 slots.
Networking features 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4, with audio handled by the Realtek ALC897 codec. MSI lists this model at $235.
