New Alien Survival Horror Game Reportedly in Development at Eidos Montreal
A new Alien game is reportedly in active development, and early details suggest a major return to survival horror after the success of Alien Isolation. Here is what players can expect based on the latest reports.
New Alien Game Brings Adaptive AI, Stealth, Platforming, And More
The project is described as a single-player arcade survival horror experience set aboard a decaying space station. Players will battle both xenomorphs and human spec-ops enemies while navigating collapsing environments and managing scarce resources.
Reports say the game uses a third-person action approach similar to Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It will feature combat, platforming sections, environmental puzzles, stealth mechanics, and AI that adapts to player behavior.
The budget recently increased to under 75 million dollars, which is more than double the earlier estimate of about 30 million. Development reportedly began in 2020 and changed studios before landing at Eidos Montreal, the team currently believed to be handling the project.
Leaked documents mention the possible appearance of Ripley 8 from the Alien films, though this has not been confirmed. A 2028 release across major platforms appears to be the target window, but timelines could shift since the game is still early in production.
Neither Eidos Montreal nor Embracer has commented on the report. If you’re a fan of science fiction games, you might want to know that Saros was deleted to April 2026.
