New update makes Microsoft Teams more mobile friendly

A new update from Microsoft will soon make using Microsoft Teams on a smartphone much more easy.

The video conferencing service has announced that the Redmond tech giant is working on a feature that will simplify taking and carrying out calls on mobile devices.

After this update, you will be able to transfer the ongoing Teams calls to the phone’s native dialer without losing context or experiencing any other disruptions.

The change means that you will be able to handle and take part in more calls, so you don’t have to putter around dialers and apps, preventing call drops and other possible interruptions.

This will benefit those who want to take or participate in Microsoft Team calls much more easily while travelling or on the move.

The update is under development, as listed on the Microsoft 365 roadmap website and is said to be rolled out in April 2024. The description on the page says:

When using Teams on mobile phones, users can now transfer their ongoing Teams calls to the phone’s native dialer, without any disruption or loss of context.

The update will be available to Android and iOS devices and to all users worldwide upon release.

Apparently, this is not the only change expected with the update; you will also get a new mobile layout, a live status of a meeting with Teams calendar on your phone with details on what exactly is happening before you join a call, including the avatars who already joined the call, and a simplified way to join a meeting on your smartphone.
