Full-screen experience expands to more handheld devices

The full screen experience now works on additional handheld gaming PCs after first launching on the ASUS ROG Ally and ROG Ally X. This mode reduces background activity and boosts gameplay performance.

As you may know, KB5067115 expanded Full Screen Experience, and Microsoft is determined to focus more on this feature.

Click to Do improvements for Copilot+ PCs

Microsoft streamlined the Click to Do context menu, making Copy, Save, Share, and Open easier to access. The menu now appears automatically when Windows detects large images or tables, helping users perform actions faster.

Agent in Settings and better search results

The update adds an Agent section in Settings for Copilot+ PC, which highlights recently modified options. Search results now show more accurate and relevant settings, and in some cases, allow direct adjustments from the search pane.

Windows Studio Effects support expands to more cameras

Copilot+ PCs can now use AI-powered Studio Effects enhancements with external cameras, not only built-in laptop webcams. You can enable this from Advanced camera options in the Settings app.

Drag Tray gets multi-file sharing and smarter suggestions

Drag Tray was updated in KB5070311, and now Drag Tray supports multi-file sharing and shows more relevant apps when you drag content. It also lets you move files smoothly into folders and can be turned off from the Nearby Sharing settings.

File Explorer dark mode receives major refinements

Dark mode now looks consistent across default and expanded file operation dialogs, including progress bars and confirmation prompts. Copilot+ PCs also show placeholder text in the search box, and hovering over items in Explorer Home reveals quick actions like Open file location or Ask Copilot.

Better mobile device integration in Settings

Users can now add and manage mobile devices from the Mobile Devices section in Settings. Supported features include using a phone as a camera or accessing phone storage directly from File Explorer.

Desktop Spotlight gains a new context menu option

Windows Spotlight users may notice a new Learn more about this background / Next desktop background option being tested in the context menu.

Input settings, improved keyboard and pen controls

New keyboard options, including repeat delay and cursor blink rate, now appear in Settings. Supported keyboards gain improved backlight controls. Haptic pens now offer tactile feedback for UI actions such as snapping windows or hovering over the close button.

Game Pass page updated in Settings

Microsoft revised the Game Pass section so users can view available plans and their benefits at a glance.

OneDrive icon updates in Accounts and Home

A new OneDrive icon is rolling out across Accounts pages and the Settings homepage.

Quick Machine Recovery receives automated scanning

When enabled, Quick Machine Recovery now performs a one-time scan to check for issues and potential fixes automatically.

Virtual Workspaces available via Advanced Settings

Users can now toggle Virtual Workspaces, enabling or disabling features like Hyper-V and Windows Sandbox.

Paint adds an option to hide the toolbar

Paint version 11.2511.281.0 is rolling out to Canary and Dev Channels, bringing a hide-toolbar feature that gives creators more workspace for editing.
