Windows 11 Insiders in the Experimental channel are getting Build 26300.8376, with changes and improvements also applying to those in the Dev channel. The latest release coincides with the rollout of two Experimental builds, 28020.2075 and 29585.1000, which apply to Windows 11 Insiders in the Canary 28000 series and 29500 series channels, respectively.

Speaking of the Experimental (Dev) build, this one adds several new gesture-related features for precision touchpads inside Settings. You can now control scroll and zoom gesture speed, while a new automatic scrolling feature allows scrolling to continue without lifting fingers from the touchpad.

As part of Build 26300.8376, Microsoft has also introduced accelerated scrolling, where repeated scrolling increases movement speed for navigating long documents faster. Another addition is optional single-finger scrolling from the left or right side of the touchpad.

Not to forget, File Explorer is also receiving multiple improvements and fixes. Speaking of improvements, File Explorer’s address bar now supports paths featuring double backslashes and quotation marks (for example, C:\Users\user or “C:\Users\user”), which apparently improves compatibility with more input types.

Additionally, Microsoft has also improved reliability for the address bar suggestion dropdown so it consistently closes after selection. Moving on, file sizes in Details view should now display using proper units like MB and GB instead of showing everything in KB only. Moreover, Microsoft has also improved the rename experience and keyboard navigation for File Explorer context menus.

Other improvements

Apart from the aforementioned changes, K-12 organizations can now upgrade Windows 11 Home devices to Windows 11 Pro Education at no extra cost using a new one-way upgrade path tied to school account verification. That’s not all; the update also fixes a WPN hang issue from the previous flight that reportedly caused notification problems and app launch hangs. Furthermore, Microsoft additionally improved desktop app shortcut loading reliability and the reliability of Japanese IME usage when Administrator Protection is enabled.
