As reported by Nintendo Life, the Switch Online “Nintendo Classics” catalog has expanded with three new NES titles, bringing more retro content to subscribers. The update includes iconic releases from Namco and a lesser-known title developed by Game Freak, all now available through the service.

Three NES classics join the Nintendo Classics lineup

The newly added games include Pac-Man (1988), Mendel Palace (1989), and The Tower of Druaga (1984). These titles were also released simultaneously in Japan, keeping the libraries aligned across regions.

Pac-Man remains one of the most recognizable arcade experiences, challenging players to clear mazes while avoiding ghosts. Mendel Palace offers a unique action-puzzle experience, where players control Bon-Bon to rescue Candy from a dream world. Meanwhile, The Tower of Druaga blends action and exploration, tasking players with climbing a tower, collecting keys, and ultimately defeating Druaga to rescue Ki.

All three games require an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, as they are part of the NES library included in the service.

The update comes at a time when Nintendo is reportedly adjusting its broader strategy. Recent reports suggest the company plans to scale back production by over 30% following weaker-than-expected sales in the United States.

At the same time, expectations are growing around the upcoming Switch 2, with rumors pointing to a potential price increase. That could make current bundles, including discounted offers featuring Super Mario Galaxy, more appealing to buyers considering a purchase soon.
