About GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.76

The driver fixes a series of bugs, as per the Reddit post, including:

  • Stability issues in Talos Principle 2 when DLSS FG is enabled.
  • NVENC-encoded videos won’t throw an error message or corrupt the output on GeForce GTX 16XX GPUs.
  • Steamwebhelper.exe won’t block the notebook display mode switch.

Two known issues that exist on GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.76 and are being worked on are:

  • Issues with Netflix on Microsoft Edge. NVIDIA recommends using the dedicated Windows Netflix app as a workaround.
  • PC may freeze on the GeForce GTX 10/RTX 20 series if you turn on both Windows Hardware- Accelerated GPU Scheduling and NVIDIA SLI.

Judging from the initial response from people who installed the driver, the gaming experience did get a significant boost, primarily due to RTX HDR.

RTX HDR has been a game changer for my home theater.

I was playing Quantum Break on a daily basis with RTX HDR and today after this driver update, on default settings, the change in tone mapping was immediately noticeable to me.

Besides, a few users reported crashes, freezing, and black screens during the GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.76 installation. For this, NVIDIA recommends you use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove the existing NVIDIA driver and then install the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver.
