NVIDIA RTX 60 Series May Not Arrive Until 2028, New Leak Claims

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 60 series is reportedly delayed until 2028, pushing the company’s next gaming GPU generation beyond an earlier expected second-half 2027 launch window.

Leaker Kopite7kimi claims NVIDIA’s next-generation GR20x gaming GPUs are now planned for 2028. The same source previously pointed to a release during the second half of 2027.

GR20x is expected to become NVIDIA’s Rubin-based consumer GPU family and eventually power the GeForce RTX 60 series. However, NVIDIA has not officially announced the RTX 60 lineup, GR20x specifications, or any release date.

Previous reports pointed to a 2027 launch

Kopite7kimi previously described GR20x as NVIDIA’s gaming Rubin family and suggested the GPUs would arrive in the second half of 2027.

That timeline now appears to have changed. Detailed specifications for GR20x have also not surfaced, leaving most information about the next gaming architecture unknown.

Another hardware leaker, Kepler_L2, recently claimed that NVIDIA’s next gaming GPU generation has moved to 2028. The source also said most of AMD’s next discrete GPU lineup could arrive during the same year.

Kopite7kimi’s latest claim now lines up with that report, although neither NVIDIA nor AMD has confirmed those timelines.

NVIDIA has not confirmed the RTX 60 timeline

For now, the reported 2028 release window remains unofficial. NVIDIA has not publicly confirmed Rubin-based GeForce graphics cards or provided a launch schedule for its next consumer GPU generation.

Meanwhile, reports suggest NVIDIA could launch a new RTX 5070 with a bigger GB203 GPU, while Perplexity has launched Portable Computer for NVIDIA RTX PCs.

GPU buyers are also watching prices closely, as another GPU price hike could make graphics cards even more expensive.
