OpenAI has quietly introduced a new $100 ChatGPT Pro tier, and it’s clearly aimed at users who push AI tools to their limits daily. The update was shared on X, alongside changes to Codex usage, hinting at a bigger shift in how the company is structuring access and performance across plans.

The new ChatGPT Pro plan is dedicated to power users

The new Pro plan delivers up to 5x more Codex usage than Plus, with a limited-time boost going up to 10x through May 31. It’s designed for longer, high-effort sessions, especially for coding and complex workflows that demand sustained performance.

Besides that, the Pro tier bundles a long list of upgrades. Users get access to GPT-5.4 Pro for advanced reasoning, maximum Codex task limits, and expanded memory and context handling. OpenAI is also offering unlimited GPT-5.3 usage, faster and unlimited image generation, and support for deep research and agent mode.

Well, there’s more. The plan includes expanded projects, tasks, and custom GPTs, along with early access to upcoming features. In short, it’s less about casual use and more about giving power users fewer restrictions across the board.

Plus plan remains, but usage is being rebalanced

At the same time, OpenAI is adjusting the Plus plan. The Codex promotion has now ended, and usage is being spread across the week instead of allowing long, single-day sessions. The $20 plan still exists, but it’s now positioned more for steady, everyday use.
