After years of rumors, and leaks from past few days, Persona 6 is finally out in the open. Atlus took the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 stage to officially unveil the next mainline Persona game, ending one of gaming’s longest-running mysteries.

The reveal marks the first brand-new numbered entry since Persona 5 launched nearly a decade ago and quickly became one of the most successful JRPGs ever made.

The road to Persona 6’s reveal has been anything but quiet. Over the past year, multiple reports claimed Atlus was working a new entry built around a fresh cast, a new visual identity, and a different color theme from Persona 5’s iconic red aesthetic. Earlier this year, alleged character artwork also surfaced online before quickly disappearing following copyright takedowns.

While Atlus stayed silent throughout the rumors, today’s reveal appears to confirm at least some of what fans had been hearing behind the scenes. The trailer introduced a completely new setting, fresh protagonists, and a distinct visual direction that separates the game from its predecessor.

Persona is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, making this one of the biggest years in franchise history. Persona 6 is available to wish list now, and its coming to XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, and XBOX Cloud Gaming.
