Prime Video now has quick news clips

The new News Clips feature brings together curated short-form videos covering major national and local stories. Amazon says each playlist combines clips from multiple trusted news sources. This means viewers can quickly catch up on breaking stories, local developments, and other major topics. The feature sits alongside Prime Video’s existing 24/7 live news offerings.

Those live channels include ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, CNN Headlines, LiveNOW from Fox, and NBC News NOW. Prime Video also offers hundreds of other free ad-supported channels. The News Clips feature is currently available on Prime Video’s living-room devices. Amazon says mobile and web support is coming soon.

You do not need a Prime membership

One interesting part of Amazon’s news push is that the dedicated news destination remains free for U.S. customers. You do not need an active Prime membership to access it. To find News Clips, open the dedicated News section and look for the Trending Topics or Local News carousel. The clips are designed for viewers who missed a developing story earlier.

Amazon says the feature will continue expanding with more content and additional ways to watch news on demand. The move also puts Prime Video closer to the short-form video experience popularized by platforms like TikTok. Other major streaming services have recently experimented with similar short-form feeds.
