Microsoft wants to make its browser, Microsoft Edge, a viable option for gamers with the latest feature called Project Corefield. The feature is now live in Edge Canary, in the Insider Program, and it looks very exciting.

The feature is one of many features recently added by the Redmond-based tech giant to make Edge even more appealing to all categories. For example, just recently the customize sidebar setting got a revamp, to keep it in touch with Windows 11.

Even more, Microsoft has been experimenting with an even Darker mode for Edge, and users have been appreciating it. Edge can also be turned into a Photo Viewer app, if you just drag and drop pictures into it, thanks to a new feature from Microsoft.

It’s called Edge Photo, and the feature is just at the beginning, but it looks very promising. It already does a lot of what Photo Viewer is already doing. And Microsoft will release updates for it in the future.

So it’s safe to say, Microsoft is adding a lot of features and is improving the experience on Edge, to cater to as many people as possible. And so far, they’re doing a good job.

Here’s how Project Corefield looks on Edge

Project Corefield is specifically made for gamers, and the feature wants to make Edge the best browser for gamers, specifically.

You’ll have Twitch and Discord available in your sidebar. There are options to make your Edge run on as little CPU as possible, to save it for gaming. You’ll have a gaming homepage, where you can easily access all your favorite gaming platforms, including Microsoft Rewards, which can get you Starfield for free.project corefield microsoft edge
