At the ongoing Summer Game Fest 2026, Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Veronica is coming in 2027. The next Resident Evil game will be available for XBOX Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

For those unaware, it’s a remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. As of now, there’s no exact release date revealed. You must know that this the first time the game has been re-released on a Nintendo platform.

As seen in the livestream, the trailer opens with a mysterious young woman being guided through a stylish apartment in Paris, offering little indication of who she really is. As the scene unfolds, subtle hints begin to emerge, pointing to a familiar connection, she’s on a covert mission tied to a well-known figure in the Resident Evil universe.

Then comes the reveal: the woman is none other than Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield’s sister. The surprise confirmation is accompanied by the announcement that the game is a fresh reimagining of the beloved Code Veronica storyline, sending longtime fans into a frenzy.

While the reveal generated plenty of excitement, rumors and speculation surrounding a Code Veronica remake had been circulating for months.
