Sony Confirms September 2026 PlayStation State of Play Date with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation & More

Sony has just confirmed that State of Play and State of Play Japan will return September 3, with two broadcasts airing back-to-back. The first showcase will spotlight PlayStation Studios and third-party games before handing over to Japan-focused announcements.

PlayStation State of Play September 3: Start Time And What’s Confirmed

The main State of Play begins at 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM CEST / 10:00 PM JST on September 3. If you are from India, that means the showcase starts at 6:30 PM IST. Sony says the broadcast will feature updates and announcements from studios around the world.

The biggest confirmed segment is an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Square Enix will reportedly show more of the game’s world during the closing portion of the main presentation.

Immediately after State of Play, State of Play Japan will begin. Yuki Kaji returns as host for the second broadcast. Sony says this Japan-focused presentation will feature upcoming games from creators across Japan and Asia. New gameplay, announcements, and other updates are expected.

Two Showcases, One Night For PlayStation Fans

Both showcases will stream live via YouTube and Twitch. The main State of Play will be presented in English, with Japanese subtitles available. State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese, while English subtitles will be provided. Sony has not revealed the complete game lineup for either broadcast.

That leaves plenty of room for surprises. Rumors have already pointed toward games such as Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, although Naughty Dog’s project remains unconfirmed.

At a time when PlayStation fans are waiting for stronger updates, two showcases taking place together could make September 3 particularly interesting.
