Spyprotector.exe may be a legitimate file if you downloaded its corresponding program to secure your PC from spyware. However, if it’s a suspicious process with no known digital signature and causes issues like lagging, high CPU usage and frequent crashes, you can remove it.

If it’s a legitimate file and it still has performance issues, check whether the spy protection software is up to date as well as your Windows updates. Your spyware software may fail to update but we have a way to fix it.

How do I remove spyprotector.exe from my PC?

1. End process and delete file

  1. Hit the Windows key, type Task Manager in the search bar, and click Open.task manager search
  2. Navigate to the Processes tab, and find the Spyprotector.exe process.
  3. Right-click on it and select End task.
  4. Locate the file on your PC and delete it.
  5. If you can’t find it, it may be hidden. Hit the Windows + E keys to open File Explorer.
  6. Click on View, select Show from the drop-down menu, and ensure the Hidden items option has a checkmark next to it.
  7. Now search for it again and delete it.

2. Run DISM and SFC scans

  1. Hit the Start Menu icon, type cmd in the search bar, and click Run as administrator.cmd-run-admin-w11 unexpected kernel mode trap windows 11
  2. Type the following commands and press Enter after each one:DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow

3. Use Autoruns to remove the file

  1. Navigate to your browser and download Microsoft Autoruns.
  2. Locate the downloaded file and unzip it.
  3. Right-click on the autorun.exe file and select Run as administrator.
  4. Click on Agree to accept the license terms.
  5. Type and Enter spyprotector in the Filterbox entry.
  6. Delete all related entries.

4. Scan for viruses

  1. Press the Windows key, search Windows Security, and click Open.
  2. Select Virus & threat protection.
  3. Next, press Quick scan under Current threats.
  4. If you don’t find any threats, proceed to perform a full scan by clicking on Scan options just below Quick scan.Scan options
  5. Click on Full scan, then Scan now to perform a deep scan of your PC.Full Scan Scan Now
  6. Wait for the process to finish and restart your system.

5. Perform a System Restore

  1. Press the Windows key, type Control Panel, and click Open.control-panel-search fallout new vegas runtime error

  3. Click Open System Restore.Open system restore
  4. Select Choose a different restore point and click Next.Next Choose a different restore point
  5. Now select the restore point and click NextChoose a point
  6. Click Finish to restore the previous settings, and Windows will restart.Finish Restore point

If the spyprotection.exe file has a parent app, proceed to uninstall it too. Also, use a PUP remover tool especially if it is in the form of bundled software as they are at times hard to uninstall completely just from the control panel.

Needless to say, having a comprehensive antivirus will be better than downloading protection programs for malware, spyware and other viruses.
