Stardew Valley 1.7 Update Confirmed With New Social Features and Farm Type
Stardew Valley remains one of the most beloved cozy indie games ever released, and new content is officially on the way. Creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has confirmed that the Stardew Valley 1.7 update is currently in development, signaling another major expansion for the long-running farming sim.
More character interactions coming to Stardew Valley 1.7
Barone revealed that the upcoming update will focus heavily on social elements. He specifically mentioned “more character and social stuff,” which points to new interactions, events, or deeper relationship systems involving Stardew Valley’s NPCs. Social gameplay has always been a core strength of the game, and this update looks set to expand that aspect further.
A new farm type likely included
Following tradition, Stardew Valley 1.7 will likely introduce a brand-new farm type. Most major updates have added fresh farming layouts that change how players approach resource management and progression. While Barone did not confirm details, he strongly hinted that a new farm will be part of the update.
Details remain limited for now
Beyond these confirmations, Barone teased that the update includes “lots more,” but chose not to share specifics yet. He explained that the update is still early in development and wants to avoid overhyping features before they are fully ready. As a result, there is no release date or full feature list at this stage.
Haunted Chocolatier development continues
Barone also reassured fans that work on Stardew Valley 1.7 should not significantly delay development on his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier. While some planning may overlap, both projects continue to move forward.
For now, fans will need patience, as Barone plans to share more information once development progresses further. In other gaming news, it seems that Starfield might get an overhaul if rumors are true.
