Steam Introduces Achievement Sets With New Completion Trophies
Valve is introducing a new Steam feature called Achievement Sets, allowing players to track achievements separately across base games, DLCs, and seasonal content.
According to Valve’s announcement, developers can organize achievements into different categories, making it easier for players to monitor their progress without combining everything into a single completion list.
Players will continue unlocking achievements as usual, but Steam will group them into developer-defined sets.
Steam Achievement Sets introduce new completion trophies
Each Achievement Set comes with its own progress bar, allowing players to track completion independently from the rest of the game.
Completing every achievement in a set also awards a new Set Complete trophy, which players can display on their Steam profiles.
Developers can create separate sets for expansions, additional content, and seasonal events. For example, a game could have one set for its main campaign and another for a DLC expansion.
Steam will also support time-limited achievement sets for holidays and special events. Developers can archive these sets after an event ends.
Alongside the new feature, Valve is redesigning Steam’s Achievements page to show overall completion progress, individual achievement sets, and detailed information about each achievement.
These Steam games already support Achievement Sets
Valve confirmed that several games already support the feature, including:
- Forza Horizon 5
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
- Portal 2
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Team Fortress 2
- DREDGE
- Crusader Kings III
- LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
- PowerWash Simulator
- PowerWash Simulator 2
- Against the Storm
- Age of Wonders 4
- American Truck Simulator
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
- Flock Around
- He is Coming
- Victoria 3
However, support depends on individual developers configuring achievement sets for their games.
Achievement Sets are available in the Steam beta
Achievement Sets and the redesigned Achievements page are available in the latest Steam client beta.
Valve has not confirmed when the feature will reach the stable Steam client.
The update gives achievement hunters more flexibility when completing games with multiple expansions or ongoing seasonal content, while also introducing additional trophies for finishing individual sets.
In other Valve news, the company officially discontinued the Index VR headset after seven years. Meanwhile, Steam is replacing curated deals with more dynamic discounts.
