Temporary Fortnite Login Issues Resolved as Servers Ready to Go Down For New Update
If you have been playing Fortnite for quite some time, you are probably familiar with the server downtime routine. Well, Epic Games will be rolling out update 40.10 across PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Android. That also means Fortnite servers will be down for the time being. If you have been wondering when the Fortnite servers will go down, here’s an update.
Fortnite server will go down in a few hours as Epic readies to roll out update 40.10 across all platforms
Over on X, Epic Games took to the Fortnite Status handle to announce the downtime. The company notes, “Downtime for v40.10 begins at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC) [April 1] with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
As usual, we can expect the downtime to last around 90 minutes. This means servers should return by approximately 5:30 AM ET, or 10:30 AM BST for UK players, although timings may vary if issues arise during the update rollout.
Wondering what’s coming with Fortnite update 40.10? Well, the April 1 update introduces Fortnite OG Season 8, bringing the game back to Chapter 1, Season 8 from 2019. The update includes map changes, with the return of the volcano and refreshed points of interest following recent in-game earthquakes.
Epic is also preparing the return of the Avengers limited-time mode. The mode will once again feature Avengers versus Chitauri gameplay, with updated loot mechanics compared to its original release. That’s not all, the latest patch is also expected to reveal new Super Styles in the Battle Pass. There are also early signs pointing to changes for Save the World, which may move closer to a free-to-play model.
For regular updates, make sure to check the official Fortnite Status account on X and the Epic Games status page.
Fortnite server login issues have been fixed
In separate Fortnite news, Epic Games has also confirmed that it has “resolved an issue with players being unable to log in to Fortnite servers.” The company is monitoring the issue to “ensure logins and matchmaking have returned to normal.”
