KB5053660

Microsoft released the Insider Preview Build 26120.3380 (KB5053660) for Windows 11 Dev and Beta Channels, which brings some major changes and improvements to the operating system.

One of the most notable additions is the real-time translation capability for live captions on AMD and Intel®-powered Copilot+ PCs.

This feature now supports a wide range of languages, including Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovene, and Swedish.

Another important highlight of KB5053660 is the introduction of recommended files in File Explorer. Users signed in with their personal Microsoft accounts will now see a carousel of thumbnail previews in the Recommended section, providing quick access to frequently used, recently downloaded, or newly added files.

Additional types of recommendations will be available for those using work or school accounts. However, this feature is not yet rolling out in the European Economic Area (EEA).

The Start menu also sees an update with the introduction of snap group recommendations. This new feature suggests a snap group in the Recommended section based on two apps most likely to be used together, streamlining multitasking for users.

Microsoft also informs insiders that the switching window from the Dev Channel to the Beta Channel will close soon. Switching channels may result in the temporary loss of some features, so users are encouraged to make their decision promptly.
