Xbox 360 is arguably Microsoft’s most popular console. During its lifetime, the Redmond-based tech company produced three versions that were available to purchase: the original Xbox 360, released in 2005, the redesigned slim model Xbox 360 S, released in 2010, and the final model, Xbox 360 E, released in 2013.
However, most people don’t know that Microsoft also released rare versions of the Xbox 360 consoles, including one called Fractal Panda, which was made explicitly for Microsoft interns and released in 2009.
The console resembles the PlayStation 5 of today in many ways: it is slim, with rounded angles and a similar port design. The Fractal Panda Xbox 360 console has a unique logo: Fractal Panda Intern 2009 Microsoft.
The console is quite rare, with a score of 76 on Console Variations. According to the site, between 100 and 500 such consoles were produced in the US. The Reddit user claims that these consoles were specifically made only for Microsoft interns, and they are one of the rarest versions of the Xbox 360.
There were about 150 of us in the program. About 25 people left the program early. More than half aimed for jobs at Microsoft instead of Xbox, so only about 50 people ordered the special edition system. I’ve been told this is one of the rarest versions of the xbox 360.
Take a look at it. What do you think, does it look similar to PlayStation 5?
It’s worth noting that you can still play on the Xbox 360 console, if you have one, but as you might know already, Microsoft retired the Xbox 360 Marketplace over a year ago.
