Vaunted Arrives on Xbox for PC with Fresh Strategy Later This Year
Real-time strategy fans have a big reason to be excited this year. During the recent Xbox Partner Preview showcase, a brand new game called Vaunted made its official debut. The title is being created by a team of veteran developers who previously worked on the legendary Starcraft series.
It will launch on Xbox platforms for PC via the Game Preview program later in 2026. Players can expect a fun mix of fast action and deep base building.
Vaunted mixes fast-paced action with classic real-time strategy
Vaunted is pulling heavy inspiration from classic competitive strategy games. However, its development team wants to keep the actual matches moving much faster. You build up a base, gather resources, and command an army of unique units. The twist is how you control those units during a fight.
Instead of just clicking and watching them shoot, players get to use real-time action abilities. You can dodge enemy attacks manually or trigger heavy area damage exactly when you need it. The studio built its engine to handle huge swarms of enemies without slowing down.
It wants players to feel like they are directly involved in the fight rather than just managing a spreadsheet from above.
It is entering the game preview program later this year
Instead of waiting to finish the entire project, the developer is releasing Vaunted as an early access title. It will hit the Xbox Game Preview program for PC sometime in late 2026. This means players can buy the game while it is still actively being developed.
The studio plans to use early feedback from the community to balance the competitive multiplayer modes and tweak the solo campaign. Xbox also confirmed the game will be available to PC Game Pass subscribers on day one.
Anyone who wants to test out the new mechanics will have an easy way to jump in as soon as it launches. The team promises to share an exact release date soon.
