Microsoft Viva connections

Microsoft has decided to expand the Viva platform outside of its Teams borders. For instance, according to a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will be adding linked content to the platform, allowing managers to add external sources, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos to their learning courses.

But the company isn’t stopping here: another recent entry to the Roadmap unveiled that Viva Connections will soon be accessible directly from the Internet browser, without having to open Microsoft Teams.

According to the entry, the new form of login to Viva Connections will be introduced in May 2024. The Redmond-based tech giant says the web version of the platform will retain all of its existing capabilities from Teams.

Viva Connections is now available directly on the browser. All the same functionalities that exist in Teams now also surface directly in the browser, providing a consistent experience with other Viva Modules.

Microsoft

With Microsoft allowing Viva Connections to be accessible from the Internet, users will have way more flexibility when it comes to engaging with their workmates. For instance, this will allow them to log in to Viva Connections on devices that don’t have Microsoft Teams installed.

While the entry doesn’t mention anything about a mobile version, it’s safe to say you can tweak your way around to log in to Viva Connection from a mobile device, such as a tablet or mobile phone.

This is excellent for those remote or digital employees who are always on the road with limited devices at their disposal. Additionally, the web version of Viva Connections will have all the capabilities of the Teams version one, so employees won’t have to worry about not being able to access certain features.

What do you think about this new Viva Connection version? Are you excited about it?
