Windows 10 & 11 Finally Get Native Gemini Desktop App Worldwide

gemini answer now

Although Microsoft has Copilot in every other parts of Windows 11 these days, many users still choose to use Google’s Gemini AI via browser. If you are among them, the good news is that Google has officially launched a dedicated Gemini app for Windows. This gives Windows PC users a native way to access its AI assistant without relying on a browser.

Gemini comes to Windows 10 & 11with a handy shortcut

You can simply use the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut to instantly access Gemini over whatever you are currently working on. Google says this can be useful for everything from fact-checking a document to brainstorming presentation titles.

The Windows app also brings Gemini’s more advanced capabilities into a dedicated workspace. Users can access Gemini Spark, Google’s personal AI agent, and ask Gemini to pull information from connected Google apps such as Gmail and Google Drive for tasks like creating project summaries.

Google is also positioning the Windows app as a creative hub. Users can generate images with Nano Banana and create videos using Gemini Omni, all without having to switch between different apps or browser tabs.

The company says the app is lightweight and designed to run quietly without slowing down the PC. More native desktop features are also expected to arrive over time.

The new Gemini Windows app is available globally today for both Windows 10 and Windows 11. You can download the Gemini desktop app for Windows from here.
