Windows 11 KB5077241 Release Preview Adds First Sign-In Restore for Organizations, Emoji 16.0 & More
Builds 26100.7918 and 26200.7918 roll out to Release Preview Insiders
Microsoft has released Builds 26100.7918 and 26200.7918 under KB5077241 to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel of Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. The latest builds bring new features and enhancements designed to improve user experience, device setup, and system recovery.
As part of this update, Windows 11 gets Emoji 16.0, which adds a curated set of new emojis across major categories. It is now accessible via the emoji panel for all users. Another major addition in this update is the first sign-in restore experience for Windows Backup in organizations.
The aforementioned feature automatically restores user settings and Microsoft Store apps during first sign-in on Entra hybrid joined devices, Cloud PCs, and multi-user environments. It ensures a consistent setup process for device refreshes, upgrades, or migrations, making device transitions smoother for IT admins and employees alike.
Moving on, the update also expands Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) to Windows Professional devices that aren’t domain-joined or managed by enterprise endpoints. These devices now automatically receive the same recovery features as Windows Home users, allowing for faster troubleshooting and system restoration. For domain-joined or enterprise-managed machines, QMR remains off unless enabled by the organization, keeping IT control intact. Worth noting that the same update has also added built-in network speed test to taskbar, sysmon feature, camera controls & more to Windows 11.
It should be noted that these features are rolling out gradually, meaning not all Insiders will see the features immediately. If you haven’t seen the update yet, it should pop up for you soon via Windows Update.
