Recently, while browsing through the Windows 8 section on Reddit, I was informed that a new Hacker News app for Windows 8 users had been made available in the Windows Store. Read below to find more details about it if you’re a reader of the popular Hacker News portal.

I read Hacker News quite a lot and have always looked for a dedicated Windows 8 app to download and install on my Windows 8 tablet. If  I recall correctly, at a certain moment, there was one, but it was paid, and I didn’t want to invest in something that I could open by going into the browser. Now, be aware that the HackerNews app has recently been launched in the Windows Store, so it is expected for plenty of bugs and glitches to appear, so be indulgent as I’m sure the developer will fix this as users will start reporting.

HackerNews Reader app lands in the Windows 8 Store

This is an application that allows users to browser the top current stories from the popular technology news site Hacker News. It allows the user to view the top stories as well as visit each one. The user can also read the comment threads for each story.

The app comes with a full list of the top stories, threaded comments and a responsive which is really easy to use. What I didn’t like is the way how articles are structured and I’d personally like something that resembles more than original design of Hacker News. Also, at times, the articles seemed to load quite slow, but besides this, it’s a good start, so go ahead and download it on your Windows 8 tablet or desktop device.
