Winlator 7 allows you to play Windows games on your phone

With Windows 11 on Arm it’s possible to install the OS on a mobile and play games. We already reported about Project Renegade that will help you do just that, but apparently, new such apps are starting to show up. The developers just updated Winlator 7 and announced the new version on a Reddit post.

What is new from Winlator 7?

This new version represents a big improvement with many fresh characteristics, better performance and problem solving. Picture yourself plunging into the worlds of Quake 4, Dark Souls II or Oblivion, all from your hand’s grasp. Now, don’t imagine that the experience is like playing on a PC with huge resources, but it’s still something!

With Winlator, the process of migrating your treasured Windows games to Android becomes easier. You only need to install the most recent apk; there’s no more need for OBB files. But remember, you still have to possess the games you want to play because Winlator does not offer them. Put your games in the Downloads folder, and there you go, ready for a big gaming time.

But wait, there’s a twist: all that shines isn’t gold. While Winlator may claim an easy setup, the real challenge lies in making games work well. Performance and game compatibility are the dragons to be fought in this adventure. And we must not overlook the scarcity of games and the time it takes to load them, which can be quite trying.

Winlator is a hope for mobile gaming lovers, even if it has some restrictions. This speaks about how the world of games is changing, where the difference between PC and mobile gaming becomes less clear. You can download the Winlator apk right from the GitHub dedicated page.

Therefore, is Winlator the best and ultimate choice for running Windows games on Android? Maybe not yet. But it’s a progress in a story that is only starting.
