Fans of Kotaro Uchikoshi, the visionary behind the Zero Escape series, have something unexpected to celebrate this week. A game connected to his creative legacy, World’s End Club, has quietly launched on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One (via TheXboxHub)

World’s End Club finally gets Xbox ports

World’s End Club is a 2D side‑scrolling action‑adventure from developer IzanagiGames, with writing contributions from scenario designers like Uchikoshi. The game was first released on other platforms, but skipped Xbox entirely until now, a rare move for Japanese titles with Western console releases. That has changed as of this week, with World’s End Club now available on Xbox.

The Xbox release is notable because Uchikoshi’s Zero Escape series, including classics like 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (released in 2009) and its sequels, didn’t originally launch on Xbox hardware.

Meanwhile, the third entry in the franchise, Zero Time Dilemma, only came to Xbox years after its initial release on handhelds and later platforms. As far as World’s End Club is concerned, it brings narrative twists, charm, and mystery with side‑scrolling gameplay.

Players follow a group of twelve characters on a bizarre journey across Japan, blending storytelling with action‑puzzle sequences. Its narrative pedigree, bolstered by Uchikoshi’s involvement and ties to creators of Danganronpa, gives it crossover appeal for fans of story‑driven games.
