XBOX Boss Praises The Elder Scrolls 6 After Live Playthrough
The Elder Scrolls 6 has resurfaced after XBOX boss Asha Sharma revealed that she recently saw the game during a behind-closed-doors visit to Bethesda.
Sharma described the upcoming RPG as impressive in both scale and ambition, saying, “The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.”
Her post quickly attracted attention, reaching around 2.5 million views at the time of the report. More importantly, the visit suggests Bethesda now has enough of The Elder Scrolls 6 running internally to demonstrate it through a live playthrough.
Bethesda may have teased The Elder Scrolls 6 subtitle
Bethesda Game Studios later thanked Sharma for visiting and said the team had been able to show her The Elder Scrolls 6: “********.”
The deliberately hidden wording appears to tease a possible subtitle for The Elder Scrolls 6, although Bethesda has not officially confirmed what the final name will be.
The studio has shared very little about the game since announcing it, so even a small tease has generated speculation about what Bethesda could eventually call the next mainline Elder Scrolls entry.
The Elder Scrolls 6 release is still likely years away
Sharma seeing a playable version of the game could suggest development has reached a more advanced stage. However, Bethesda head Todd Howard said in February 2026 that The Elder Scrolls 6 was still “going to be a while.”
Bethesda has not announced a release date or launch window. Any reports pointing to 2028 or 2029 remain speculation.
What we do know is that The Elder Scrolls 6 will run on Creation Engine 3, alongside Bethesda’s future projects.
The company has also confirmed a new Fallout project with Obsidian Entertainment.
Elsewhere in the XBOX ecosystem, an id Software veteran recently said that making another Doom game is impossible following layoffs at the studio.
