Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands to Amazon Fire TV Smart TVs

Xbox is pushing cloud gaming further into the living room. As of December 23, 2025, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available directly on select Amazon Fire TV smart TVs. The latest Fire TV 4-Series and Fire TV Omni QLED Series models now come with the Xbox app built in.

Amazon says that the support is coming to more models down the line. With a compatible controller and an Xbox Game Pass subscription, players can access hundreds of cloud-enabled titles straight from their TV.

This move builds on Xbox Cloud Gaming’s existing support for Fire TV streaming devices. The service was already available on current-generation Fire TV 4K streaming media players, ranging from the Fire TV Stick 4K Select to the Fire TV Cube. The new smart TV integration makes the experience even more seamless, especially for users who want gaming baked directly into their display.

Amazon reports a surge in interest in cloud gaming on Fire TV. Speaking with Thurrott.com, Amazon said that “cloud gaming usage on Fire TV more than doubled this year compared to last year.” Alexa+ integration is also playing a role. Users can simply say, “Alexa, open Xbox app,” and jump straight into a game.

You can download the Xbox app from the Amazon Appstore, sign in with a Microsoft account, and connect a Bluetooth controller. Supported options include the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense, and DualShock 4.

Xbox Cloud Gaming on Fire TV is now live in 29 countries, with recent expansions including India and Brazil. For many players, it’s a cheaper, cleaner path into the Xbox ecosystem.
